I graduated with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy from the University of Ulster Jordanstown, Northern Ireland in 2007. I immediately started working in the NHS UK as a rotational Physiotherapist, gaining experience in the areas of Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and Adult Neurology.
Throughout my rotational experience I developed a strong preference to work with patients presenting with Neurological disorders. I have extensive formal and informal training relating to Neurological disorders. I completed Introduction to Bobath: The assessment and Treatment of Adults with Neurological conditions Part A, B, and C. I also completed the MSc Module, Interdisciplinary Stroke Care Module, University of Ulster, Jordanstown, in N. Ireland. In the UK I have worked as a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist in the outpatient, inpatient and community setting.
Since moving to Canada 2016 I have been working as a Physiotherapist for Vancouver Coastal Health.
I have a strong passion to provide high quality, goal directed Physiotherapy intervention to the population of people with neurological impairments. I recognise the wide and adaptable benefits of Pilates for this frequently underserved population. I am a fully certified APPI Pilates instructor. I have experience teaching Pilates on a one to one basis and also in a group setting. I am excited to join the forward thinking team at Trimetrics to offer and develop this important service.
Outside work I enjoy travel, exploring Canada and socialising with friends.
Keeping fit is important to hiking and me I enjoy doing Pilates, attending the gym, running.
