Shawna received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from UBC in 1998. She achieved the designation of Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMT) in 2004. She obtained her Certificate of Medical Acupuncture in 2006 from the University of Alberta and became a certified Gunn IMS practitioner in 2013. She is also trained in Vestibular Rehabilitation. She is currently studying visceral manipulation and concussion management. Shawna spent several years assisting on orthopaedic manual therapy courses for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and assisted in Anatomy classes for Physiotherapy students.
Shawna is excited when, after a thorough assessment and individualized treatment, she can help people feel and move better and assist in getting them get back to doing the things they love whether it’s being active in all the North Shore playground has to offer, or keeping up with their children or grandchildren. Shawna uses a holistic approach to treatment, integrating manual therapy, IMS, acupuncture, movement retraining and exercise to improve her clients’ function.
When not at work, Shawna enjoys playing with her 2 young boys, running, hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, reading, gardening, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
