Trimetrics Newsletter Fall 2012
Welcome back all!
Siobhan O’Connell Registered Physiotherapist, and Trimetrics Associates.
Physiotherapy news!A year ago we introduced Real Time Ultrasound assessment of the spine and abdominal wall so that you, our clients could actually visualize your own core muscles. The benefits have been huge for both therapist and client. We have seen great improvements in how quickly the core muscles can be retrained and how fast back pain can disappear with the correct training, especially in those who were doing a lot of abdominal work but not always feeling the benefits. For more about RTUS and how it can help you read here. Now we are adding MSK (Musculoskeletal Ultrasound) to image shoulder tendons, ligaments, and bursas where there is injury or pain around the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knees, and feet. This is intended as a tool to compliment our manual testing and create a more accurate treatment plan. For more about MSK please read here.
