Trimetrics Newsletter January 2013

We extend a heartfelt welcome back to all after a wonderful holiday break!
Sincere thanks to our clinic associates and patients who contributed generously to the Dundarave Festival of Lights 2012. The festival raised $35,257, raising awareness and giving substantial financial support the North Shore Lookout shelter for the homeless. My associates and I at Trimetrics plan to make this annual pledge to our community.

We have lots of relevant and interesting plans for the clinic for 2013, to improve and expand existing services and add some new ones. Office Notes!

To serve you better, we are upgrading our appointment scheduling and billing system.
This new system will allow us to confirm your booked appointments by direct email instead of by phone call, saving the receptionists up to 90 minutes a day and freeing up phone lines for your incoming calls. If you would still prefer a phone call, just let us know and we are happy to accommodate.

We will also be able to email your treatment receipts and allow you to access your account at years end for those lost receipts. To facilitate a smooth transition on February1,please let us know if there are any changes to your email address or phone numbers.

Parking Update! On December 1 2012 I added one more space for our patients at rear ob building bringing Trimetrics spots to a total of 9 ( stalls # 90 – 98 ) Results are that :Last week, I attended a presentation by Concert Properties who plan to develop the entire south side of the street from Bodwell school to the yacht club if the OCP is approved. The good news short term is that Lions Gate school vacate their lot in July and this is will be turned over for parking while constuction is underway... Read more...

Real Time Ultrasound (RTUS) at Trimetrics : The benefits for therapists and our patients!

For the past 2 years our physiotherapists have loved the information that our ultrasound studies have yielded about what is actually happening in our patients’ abdominal, pelvic floor and deep spine muscle systems.
This information has greatly improved the precision of the training that Pilates teachers can provide and has resulted in more pain free, strong and very satisfied clients, both male and female.

New for 2013! Open Studio for Trimetrics Clients!

Picture yourself enjoying your own private independent workout! In response to our Pilates clients requests for more training time on Pilates equipment, we are offering Open Studio times for a limited number of pre- approved clients (those intermediate and beyond) to come and work independently on their individual pre set programs at their leisure. This is NOT a substitute for your regular privates semi or group work, but intended as training addition at a lower price point and at flexible times for those who want extra workouts. Salamba Sarvangasana – The Mother of Asanas

During a past yoga class at Trimetrics, preparing the students for a preparation for shoulder stand, I started a discussion on the effects of this often feared, sometimes challenging but enormously beneficial pose. Shoulder stand in sanskrit is called: Salamba Sarvangasana. Translated, this means the whole body is supported on the neck and shoulders, using the hands, arms and strong lift through the pelvis and legs to invert the body. It is quoted by BKS Iyengar as the “Mother of Asanas” in his textbook of poses, Light on Yoga, “Just as a mother strives for harmony and happiness in the home, this asana (pose) strives for harmony and happiness in the human system”.
